The Muddy
21 Congress St.
Portsmouth, NH
Notes: Very fun night with a great crowd. The Change Up from Massachusetts share the night with a kick-ass set. She Don't Know is played with the standard album ending rather than seguing into Dance Hall Days. Dance Hall is played as an encore at the end of the show. Alpha Quandary and Better Days are played without the customary "Another Brick" ending. Music from Led Zeppelin's "Bring It On Home" is again played as an integral part of Funk-E-Jam and has simply become a standard part of that jam at this point.

The Flask Lounge
117 Spring St.

Notes: Fun show in SOAK's first appearance at this club. Small / intimate sized club with a cool atmostphere and friends patrons and staff. Abbreviated version of the music for Soul Preacher is played for the first time (without lyrics) as an intro to Harry Stone. The band teases Weezer's "Say It Ain't So" before playing "The World Has Turned And Left Me Here".

Jillian's
50 Phillipe Cote St.
Manchester, NH
Notes: SOAK'S 100th Show as a 3-Piece. A large crowd that was dancing and very into the guys. The guys were in a good mood and the night was full of long jams, improvs, and riff teases. The show clocked in a 3 hours+ despite several SOAK staples being left on the shelf. The night was completed by a 30min long version of Funk-E-Jam that also served to salute the 40th anniversary of Led Zeppelin. Zep Riff teases were everywhere with Matty and Chris trading licks from Bring It On Home, Whole Lotta Love, Good Times Bad Times, Dazed and Confused, How Many More Times, Communication Breakdown, and even Coverdale/Page's Shake My Tree. By the end of the song there was a full blown rave going on. To which Troy could only say "Follow Your Bliss"...

M.E.A.N.Y. Fest - The Mean Fiddler
266 W. 47th St.
New York, NY

Notes: The highlight of SOAK's return to New York was a visit to the infamous Manny's guitars (where Hendrix used to shop). Also shopping at the moment was Zakk Wylde of Black Label Society and Ozzy Osbourne's band. SOAK, Wil Kindler, Paul from Dreamline and Dave Roberge of Transit Music shook hands and talked to Zakk for a few. Paul from Dreamline and Chris from SOAK jumped at the photo-op. Standing in for Slash, who was missing for the photo, is a cardboard cutout that Zakk insisted be in the photo.

The show itself was fun as well despite issues with the house equipment.

Notes: Very cool tavern tucked into the base of the White Mountains. Great intimate atmosphere with some very cool people. Hope to make our way back soon. Atmosphere lent itself to a 2 set show rather than SOAK's typical 3, with the second set being extended with several acoustic versions of songs that haven't been played publically in that format. These include: Burnt Newell Breakdown; Franklin's Tower; She Don't Know; Dance Hall Days (featuring the scared cat); Harry Stone; and (yes, you guessed it), 7 Nation Army (SOAK is expecting the angry phone call from Jack White at any time for our audacity to play that song acoustic ).

La Bec Rouge
Hampton, NH
Notes: A fun night with several of SOAK's friends showing up for our midweek funfest. Myspace was well represented. On this night, the new, as yet still untitled jam was used to lead into Franklin's, bringing the already jammed out Franklin's to a full 25min. Soon, this will enter Dazed and Confused territory if this keeps up!

Rock 101 WGIR (101.1 FM) "Homegrown"
Manchester, NH
Notes: The guys got late word on 9/16 that they'd be the featured artist that night on Rock 101's "Homegrown" program. So, after the Sox blew it against the Yanks and the Pats anhilated the Chargers, somewhere around 12:30am, Rock 101 played SOAK's "She Don't Know" between Billy Idol's "Rebel Yell" and KISS's "Rock And Roll All Night". This was SOAK's first broadcast on a "real", terrestrial radio station. You can help make sure there's more to come! Be sure to e-mail Rock 101 at ioanis@rock101fm.com and request that they play more of SOAK's music on the station! Every request helps.

Uncle Eddie's
Salisbury, MA
Notes: A fun night with some new friends in MA. The amorphous Untitled Jam once again frames the show on both ends. The night featured well wishes to newlyweds in the crowd. They also needed a "wedding song" to remember and requested that the guys come up with something. So, for the first time in a SOAK, "full band" setting, Honey Brown Eyes was played. Who knew that for the 2nd time in a week, SOAK would have to spontaneously play "wedding band"?

Meadowbrook U.S. Cellular Pavilion
Gilford, NH

Notes: What can we say about this show? First of all, a big round of thanks to R.J., Bridget and the entire staff at Meadowbrook. We loved working with you and can't wait to come back. Also, special thanks to everyone that stopped by to see us and came to the show to support us.

As for Incubus, I wish we could say thank you to you as well, but that wouldn't be the chosen phrase, I don't think... For the people that did come last night, I believe it's only right that you get the story on what happened yesterday. As you know, Meadowbrook has area bands open up every night of their schedule on their 2nd stage. This was what we were doing.

However, Incubus took exception to the fact that we were slated to play to open up the night. They essentially threw a fit about it and, without going into the foolish details here, gave an ultimatum that either SOAK plays or Incubus plays. So, for the first time ever at Meadowbrook, the headliner cancelled the 2nd stage opening act. Incubus' reason for not wanting us to play? They stated that they didn't know what our political agenda was. At last I checked, we were playing music, not holding a political rally.

But, in the end, it worked out very well because we played a set to a larger crowd as soon as Incubus' own, rather short, set completed. So, that's what happened and I WOULD like to thank Incubus for opening up for us last night!.

Thanks again to everyone that was pretty fired up about what happened last night. Feel free to visit http://www.enjoyincubus.com and let them know how you feel.

The Shaskeen Irish Pub
Manchester, NH
Notes: A very fun night with a good crowd in Manch-Vegas. Boston's On The Drop opened up the night in great fashion. The night closed with an audience participation singalong to a couple old Bon Jovi favorites. This night's set featured a tighter version of the previous night's improv. jam.... Still with improvised lyrics, but with a rather solid music structure.... Perhaps a new SOAK song is forming on stage....

Notes: An extremely fun night at the Brickhouse. We were scheduled with The Brown Hornets from Toronto as well as our friends LOURDS from New York City. But, the Hornets got caught in a blizzard near the Canadian border and couldn't make the show. The Brothers Dodd from The
Soupbone Throne
opened up the night with a killer acoustic set. Lourds Lane sat in on violin for Death March with the brothers for a great rendition. We played a little longer and LOURDS absolutely rocked a little longer and all was well for the night.
